Meet Jay.
Your guide in rhythm, rest, and real healing.
Founder of JAYROOTS Wellness. Therapist. Creative. Culture holder.
Holding space for you to breathe, feel, and begin again.
“I’m Jay (He/Him/She/Her)—a trauma-informed counsellor, community guide, and creative.
I created JAYROOTS Wellness for those of us who have been holding too much, for too long—and need a space to release, reconnect, and feel truly seen.
As a queer Black person with Jamaican roots, I know what it’s like to feel like the wellness world isn’t built for us. That’s why this space is grounded in rhythm, rooted in culture, and designed for real people carrying real things.”

How I Hold Space *
Rhythmic + Expressive
We use more than words. Sessions may include music, journaling, voice notes, or movement—because healing isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Culturally Grounded
JAYROOTS centers Black, Brown, and queer stories. We honour your truth, your background, and your lived experience.
Trauma-Informed + Gentle
Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after harm, this space is rooted in compassion and nervous system awareness.
Jay’s Journey
JAYROOTS is for folks who are:
• Seeking culturally affirming therapy
• Navigating burnout, grief, or trauma
• Exploring identity, queerness, or ancestry
• New to therapy and looking for a soft landing
• Creatives and deep feelers seeking release
Who We Serve
“Healing doesn’t have to be clinical. It can be rhythmic, expressive, communal—and yours.”
— Jay
